In great news for short film lovers and aspriring filmakers, Australia's largest short film festival is set to take place on Sunday February 14, 2016. Once again, SBS 2 will be covering all the fun of from Centennial Park, and will bring it to living rooms across Australia.
The 16 Tropfest finalist films, will premiere live in Sydney’s Centennial Park on Valentine’s Day, and will also be broadcast free-to-air from 9pm on SBS 2.
The event was set to take place today, Sunday December 6, but was postponed indefinitely in mid-November over financial issues involving the event management company. Today, Tropfest founder John Polson was ecstatic as he announced that the festival had received a lifeline from CGU Insurance, that means his baby will return in 2016 - on Valentine's Day, no less.
Polson said the outpouring of support received in recent weeks has been overwhelming. “It’s incredibly encouraging to see that the Australian public and corporate community really want to see Tropfest return.”
