Director: Joel Coen
Starring: George Clooney, John Turturro, John Goodman
What's it about?
It was here that Clooney started his fruitful collaboration with the Coen brothers (he went on to work on: Intolerable Cruelty, Burn After Reading and Hail, Caesar). Clooney stars as Everett Ulysses McGill, a silver-tongued, Clark Gable-wannabe petty criminal who escapes a Mississippi prison with two fellow convicts, the simple Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) and unstable Pete (John Turturro). McGill plots to recover a fortune in buried treasure, but a series of unexpected and bizarre adventures along the way make McGill's Odyssey one to remember.

MA15+
USA, 2008
Genre: Comedy
Language: English
Director: Joel Coen, Ethan Coen
Starring: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand
What's it about?
After the sombre neo-western No Country for Old Men, the Coen Brothers returned to lighter fare with this screwball comedy about two gym employees (Frances McDormand and Brad Pitt, hilarious as a dim personal trainer) and their ill-conceived plan to get rich. A clever and entertaining ride, with a star-studded cast that also includes John Malkovich as a disgraced CIA agent, Tilda Swinton as his unfaithful wife, and of course, George Clooney as her doofus lover.
