This atmospheric thriller from Roman Polanski resonates with topical themes, and features excellent performances from Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan as the charismatic pollie.

Director: Kevin Smith Starring: Michael Parks, Melissa Leo, John GoodmanWhat's it about?Kevin Smith (of Clerks and Mallrats fame) tackles America's divisive culture wars in this ideological comedy thriller. Smith skewers entrenched religious intolerance and abuse of power in the story of a trio of young teens who get caught up with teh charismatic leader of a fundamentalist Baptist church that takes a dim view towards homosexuality (you can bet that any and all similarities to actual people and events are well and truly intended). A terrorism sub-plot rounds out the percevied threats in Smith's divisive contemporary satire.
