Some Like it Hot was made in 1959 by Billy Wilder, who scripted it in collaboration with I.A.L. Diamond, and it was an instant classic. The combination of a cross-dressing farce with a suspenseful story about witnesses to the St. Valentine`s Day Massacre on the run from gangsters is as funny today as ever it was, thanks to the hilarious performances of Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon as surprisingly convincing members of an all-girl orchestra - Curtis also does a great Cary Grant imitation. Joe E. Brown steals all his scenes as an eccentric millionaire, but the film belongs to Marilyn Monroe at her sweetest, funniest, and most delectable. A complete joy.
