Team America: World Police Review

Team America is an elite counter terrorist strike force, committed to global stability. When a member is killed by terrorists, Gary, an actor is recruited to take his place. They need him to use his acting skills to infiltrate terrorist networks. But their efforts are hindered by mastermind megalomaniac, Kim Jong Ill and FAG- The Film Actor's Guild, who have unwittingly become part of the dictator's plans for world destruction. "

In a parody of every Jerry Bruckheimer style, boofhead action flick, Team America: World Police takes a swipe at everything. Nothing is sacred - from Hollywood, the Eiffel Tower, to Michael Moore and it features the most explicit puke and sex scenes. Team America acts as a perfect counterpoint to the computer graphics that we're so used to now in film. It is also a subversive, tasteless and often hilarious satire, that is for me - one of the most successful and strident commentaries on American jingoism released this year.
