Tell Them Who You Are Review

Haskell Wexler is clearly cantankerous and demanding, but you've got to give it to him - he doesn't seem to hide anything. Which is more than I can say for the filmmaker, who comes across as reserved and conservative. The film works best when they clash, which is testament to some smart editing. We see their relationship through those bits in interviews that are normally chopped out, when the filmmaker and subject have let their guard down and this makes for a very intimate, entertaining portrait of a family.
