Hitchhiker fans will flock to this film, but I was a little disappointed. Much of the original satire and nuance from Adams story is lost or changed to accommodate the films' hyperspace paced plot. First time feature Director Garth Jennings has included many of the best-loved sequences and yes, the big questions about the meaning of life are asked, but there's so much to chew on in Adam's tale, that I was often overwhelmed and only sometimes amused. But I'm also willing to give this a chance, for Adam's sake. On successive viewings Hitchhikers the movie will improve and improve to be worthy of its creator's legacy.
The book offers more.
The satire and nuance from Adams story has unfortunately been lost in this adaptation.
