First Descent is the Dogtown of Snow boarding, it chronicles its controversial rise from a renegade sport frowned on by skiers to its current status as a billion dollar extreme sport industry. Archival footage is inter cut with breathtaking cinematography, death defying freestyle action and personal interviews with the pioneers of the sport and today\'s best and brightest. The story centers on a group of professionals ranging in age from 18 to 40 who are flown into Alaska to attempt their first descent down these sheer mountain slops. Even for those like me not interested in the sport this film is so captivating from its spectacular scenery to its gravity defying stunts that you will find it hard to keep your eyes off the screen.
