Two for the Money Review

Al Pacino and Mathew McConaughey come together in the world of big time sports betting that is TWO FOR THE MONEY.

After his college football days are over due to an injury Brandon Lang - Matthew McConaughey finds himself thrust into the world of high stakes sports gambling.
Thanks to his uncanny ability to predict the winner of major league games he is recruited by Walter Abrams - Al Pacino to be the front man for one of the biggest sports consulting operations in the country.

Brandon adapts to the life style until his golden touch beings to wane and Toni - Rene Russo Walters's wife ends up as a pawn in their high stakes struggle.

Glossy, slick and with two of our most sought after leading men, this is the ultimate star vehicle - especially for Rene Russo, who happens to be married to the screenwriter Dan Gilroy.

Despite this it's let down by a convoluted script and some really over the top performances. Even though McConaughey slips comfortably into his role he stands no chance alongside Pacino's manic Walter.
It's as if someone hit the fast forward switch turning Al into a high speed caricature of himself.

What should have been an insightful examination of gambling addiction and sports betting turns into a one man rant fest that becomes irritating at just over 2 hours.
