Look, if we had our way, a lot more Vice shows would be winning Emmy's. From States of Undress to Gaycation to Cyberwar, there is a wealth of great shows worthy of accolades. There's also The Pizza Show, a series which one of our editors in the office last week proclaimed to be "the most important show on TV this year", but he may just be looking at it through pizza-coloured glasses. The light and shade of Vice's content is what makes it such compulsive viewing.

It is nice when Vice is recognised for some of the great thought-provoking content broadcast on the channel every day. At Thursday's 38th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards held in Manhattan, Vice News Tonight (airing weekdays on SBS VICELAND) was awarded Continuing Coverage of a News Story in a Newscast for Retaking Mosul.
The main award of the night was also awarded to an outlet providing news coverage of Mosul, with CBS receiving the News Emmy for Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story in a Newscast for The Road to Mosul

Vice News Tonight airs on SBS VICELAND at 5pm. You can also watch the show via SBS On Demand:
