Youtube parody channel Screen Junkies has offered up for your viewing pleasure, a new honest interpretation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, poking fun at its resemblance to A New Hope and its numerous plot holes.
The voice-over highlights that in their attempt to "satisfy decades of pent-up nerds' expectations, make up for the prequels, introduce the franchise to a new generation of fans, make enough money to justify Disney's $4 billion investment and also, you know, be good," Disney ("the company that owns everything you know and love"), and J.J. Abrams ("Diet Spielberg") have played it safe by shamelessly remaking the first Star Wars.
While they have a dig at the returning characters ("They all look really old"), they don't spare the fresh faces of the franchise either, with Rey being "so good at everything, it makes her character completely uncompelling," while Kylo Ren "acts like a goth kid who can't find his eyeliner" and Captain Phasma being a "useless character getting thrown in the garbage."
