Watch the first US Presidential Debate 2020 LIVE on SBS

The first debate between Republican incumbent US President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden will be LIVE on SBS TV and SBS On Demand from 11am AEST on Wednesday, 30 September.

Ahead of the 2020 US Presidential Election set for November 3, the first of four scheduled debates will take place this Wednesday (AEST) at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. The moderator will be Fox News anchor Chris Wallace.

Viewers in Australia can watch the debate LIVE from 11am AEST on SBS TV (see the SBS Guide for local broadcast times) and on SBS On Demand, or via the SBS News website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

This first formal encounter between Donald Trump and Joe Biden will be followed by a second on October 16 (AEDT), to be held at Florida’s Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and moderated by C-SPAN producer Steve Scully. A third debate is scheduled for October 23 (AEDT) at Tennessee’s Belmont University, with NBC News journalist Kristen Welker moderating.

Vice-Presidential candidates, Republican incumbent Mike Pence and Democratic challenger Kamala Harris, will debate each other on October 8 (AEDT) at the University of Utah, with USA Today Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page as moderator.
