Sex, scandal and boundary-pushing TV: the We Go There Hub

Controversy, crime, classic sports and seriously good series. You won't find all of this in one place anywhere else. Find out how we go where other networks are afraid to in the We Go There Hub.

We Go There collection editorial featuring Wisting, Showgirls, True Colours and 99 Moons

L-R: Wisting (Nordic Noir), Showgirls (World's Most Controversial Movies), True Colours (SBS Hits) and 99 Moons (Get A Room).

With SBS turning 50, there is no better moment than now to reflect on the numerous times we've gone places nobody else has the footballs to go. Whether SBS means 'Sex Before Soccer', 'Six Billion Stories' and counting, 'Simply Brilliant Streaming' or 'Shome Bof Seurovision' to you, it's undeniable that we have many faces.
Looking for a series with Aussies in the wild with nothing but their darkest thoughts? Well, we go there. A show about red caped fertility slaves? We go there, too. Cooking shows where meat and two veg is not on the menu? Been there, done that. TV that puts first nations voices first? We won't ever stop going there.

SBS and SBS On Demand are dedicated to going where no one else will. We've got Nordic Noir. We've got Nordic that isn't quite Noir. Noir that isn't quite Nordic. Hell, we've even got series that are neither Nordic nor Noir. We do it all.

From breaking news to erotic thrillers, the 'We Go There' Hub serves as the perfect place to capture the multifaceted nature of SBS and SBS On Demand. After all, we've spent years going where other channels don't, so we may as well celebrate it, right? In this Hub you can find sport, current affairs and gripping Australian documentaries co-existing with the world's most controversial movies and undeniably sexy "films" with "plot", just like nature intended.

Here is but a taste of what you can expect to see in this brilliantly diverse collection of over 300 shocking, tear-jerking and captivating series and films.

The following trailer is the safe for work version. The full version is very not safe for work and contains full frontal nudity. It can only be viewed in all its uncensored glory in the We Go There hub on SBS On Demand.

Because, for reasons already stated: we go there.
May as well start with a bang, eh?

Look, we get it. We're known for airing and streaming some of the sexiest series and films you've ever seen on TV. We know you know, and we know you love it. There's no judgement here.

These pulse-racing films about human sexuality are, for many folks, the thing they associate with SBS the most. Perhaps you saw a glimpse of something spicy while flicking through the channels. Maybe you scrolled to the bottom of SBS On Demand's home page, only to "accidentally" find a treasure trove of mature-minded material. Or, mayhaps you frequently found SBS On Demand to be home to some simply scintillating international favourites you just can't find anywhere else.

Why wait to catch a glimpse of something saucy while channel surfing? We've collected our sexiest films and put them all in one place, just for you. Enjoy, there's no shame in it.

No matter the excuse, we know the sexy and the steamy get the people going. After all, most of these films have lived in our Most Watched Movies section for years. Take 99 Moons, for example, a beloved German drama about two lovers whose lives are passionately intertwined. And intertwine they do. Many times. Relentlessly. It's a captivating and honest insight into adult relationships, and it's also our most viewed film.

Sex? Before Soccer? It's more likely than you'd think.

SBS has been the host to hundreds of sports matches across the years, some of them coming to your television straight after a passionate late-night movie or two. Some would say the real excitement comes after the adult films. Either way, we've satisfied all kinds of people after dark.

The best of SBS Sport can be found in the 'We Go There' Hub. If your goal is to keep up with the Road to the FIFA World Cup 2026, we're on the ball.
If you're getting in gear for some premium cycling, welcome to the home of the Giro d'Italia. That's 21 stages live and free, plus stream full stage replays, mini stages and highlights, all in the palm of your hands.

We're also the home of other cycling classics like Tour de France and the La Vuelta. But perhaps you think bicycles are too basic, and crave more big trucks and motorcycles in your life. Fair enough! We also stream the Dakar Rally.

Maybe you don't like sport at all. Controversial, but we get it. We're all about controversy over here. In fact, we're home to some of the most controversial films in the world.
Sure, sexy movies can be controversial, but this selection of films are known for pushing boundaries that no other has before. We're talking drug-fuelled violence, a chilling horror story with sinister lambs and an erotic nun romance that shook the Catholic church to its core. We're talking films that have claimed the crown of "worst movie ever made". Films banned in other countries. Films that skirted close to being been banned in this country. You get the gist.

When these movies were released, they caused shock waves felt across the world. Think pieces and opinions littered the internet. Everyone and their nonna had something to say about whether or not these films could even be considered as films. Scandal abound.

Most broadcasters would stay away from the controversial, but these headline-making films call SBS On Demand home. Because we went there. And we still do, haven't you heard?

The Guardian described the legendary Gaspar Noé's Climax as a "satanic dance-troupe freak-out of sex and despair". It also gave the film four out of five stars. Guess there's something magnificent about fusing "dance, coke and porn" together.

It's violent. It's graphic. It's also more than that, but it's still that. And it's yours to stream. If you go there.

Nicole Kidman's Birth made world headlines after its Venice Film Festival premiere, where it was booed by a crowd of critics. The rather taboo relationship at the heart of its story made many uncomfortable, despite the film being a rather delicate and intriguing look into grief. Over twenty years later, critics now call the film a "misunderstood masterpiece".

And then there's Nymphomaniac. And Nymphomaniac is, well, exactly what it says on the tin. Its sequel is also as sexually charged as you'd imagine, which proved to be a bit too much for the pearl-clutchers at the time. Everyone is entitled to their opinion (especially when it comes to a Lars von Trier film), and we invite you to sit in the comfiest spot on your couch and watch this controversial film for yourself, to come to your own conclusions.

It's nice to have a place to stream both Nymphomaniacs for free, isn't it?

It will come as no surprise to anyone who appreciates a nice, cold Scandi Drama or Nordic Noir that we are the home of many, many exceptional series. We go there, often, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

But perhaps you aren't familiar with these killer series. Say goodbye to your next few months, and say hello to your new obsession.

When a corpse is found among the spruces at a Norwegian Christmas tree farm, the ever-vigilant Detective William Wisting begins the search for a serial killer that puts his career and reputation on the line. Mysterious videotapes, evidence tampering and wrongful convictions make Wisting a must-see series for any fans of the genre, or anyone willing to take their first step into it. And that's just the first season. With three seasons now streaming, prepare to lose yourself.

Want more? Why not trade one detective for another. At SBS On Demand, you can really just pick your favourite Nordic Noir detective and start from there.

Fancy a rock star cop that's genius at solving crimes? Evert Bäckström from the aptly titled Backstrom is your guy. Looking for a female-led thriller about a terrorist plot aimed at the heart of Europe? Ragna from Furia will have you at the edge of your seat at all times. Want to follow an unlikely pair of detectives on a cold case that will shake you to your core? Follow Hulda and Lukas into The Darkness.

No matter which story you follow, you might want to rug up first. Scandi crime is not for the faint of heart. And neither are our docos, to be honest.
Documentaries give us greater insight into the world we live in. For years SBS has championed those without a voice and has told exceptional stories you won't find anywhere else. In the We Go There Hub, you can find a wide variety of SBS Original documentaries that have provoked hearts and minds and sparked national conversations. Headline makers, breath takers, and all of them ground breakers. Why? We go there.

See What You Made Me Do is a confronting and challenging look at Australia's national crisis of domestic violence by prize-winning author and journalist Jess Hill. Victim- survivors, the family members of killed women and former policemen are interviewed, to bring lived experience to this solutions-focused award-winning SBS Original. With so many finding the strength to speak out in this documentary, we owe it to them to listen, and start important conversations.

The Last Goodbye is a charming, poignant look at death from everyone's favourite not-dead-yet journalist, Ray Martin. Martin takes an investigate deep dive into the world of death rituals, undertakers and burial ceremonies even going as far as having a final meal with his friends and planning his own funeral. It's a fascinating look at how we still see dying, a natural part of life, as a taboo topic better left unspoken. We bet you're dying to know what kind of funeral arrangements Martin decides to choose for himself, aren't you. Well, there's only one way to find out.

The Hospital: In The Deep End is a confronting look at Australia's healthcare system. Three well-known icons are taken straight to the front line of a public hospital, where they learn first-hand just how healthy our hospitals are, and consider the future of healthcare in this country. Examine how differently public and private patients are treated, the trials of modern life on the health system and just how stressful it is working in a hospital environment.

Sex, crime, current affairs, we've gone there and continue to go there, and we encourage you to go there with us. With the We Go There Hub, you'll only need to go to one spot to find the many different and unique voices platformed at SBS. Now isn't that neat?

Now go on and, well, go there.
