What Women Want Review

Nick Marshall, Mel Gibson, is a hotshot executive at a Chicago advertising agency. He`s a confirmed Male Chauvinist, his ex - wife, daughter and female staff all have a low opinion of him. His lifeis transformed when, after an electric shock, he discovers he can read the thoughts of women - even his new boss, Darcy, Helen Hunt. Basically a one joke comedy extended over two hours - what women want is one of those films, like Liar Liar, in which an unappealing hero is magically transformed. Mel Gibson seems to be enjoying himself, and does a smooth Frank Sinatra imitation; Helen Hunt brings grace and authority to her role, and there is an amusing , uncredited cameo from Bette Midler. But the film runs out of steam in a series of none too interesting sub plots long before the end.
