Deputy Mayor Thiik Thiik Mayardit in the second part of our interview talks about the need to change Juba city for better. Mayor Thiik said, "Juba is not a hot spot for diseases, and the best thing to do is to close down areas hosting unregulated brothels."

“The mayor and I went to this place called Mawuna, these places got a lot of prostitution going on there, and we must find a way to control this place.”

In an interview with SBS Dinka, Thiik accuses Presidential Press secretary Ateny Wek Ateny of misrepresenting the President.

“Ateny is well aware of how President Kiir help saved Dr Riek Machar during the 2016 fighting at J1. President Kiir told this to the world during his interview with Jeff Koinange. When the issue of Malong came up, Ateny released a statement and said that ’Malong was given five million to kill Dr Riek'. He also said that 'the bank was open at night’. I asked Ateny to provide facts about this and seven other points to the public. I am waiting for Ateny to answer these seven points.”

To balance the story, we have asked Ateny Wek, but we are yet to get the reply. Thiik calls for the unity of South Sudanese people, and he sees himself as the person who can tell the message of unity better.
