The deaths of over 40 Indian soldiers in Pulwama in Indian-administered Kashmir on 14th February has sparked an outpouring of grief by the Indian diaspora.
Indians abroad, from the US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia, gathered to express their respect to the soldiers who died in the suicide attack.
The government of Narendra Modi has vowed to retaliate after a van packed with explosives ripped through a convoy transporting 2,500 soldiers across the Indian-administered territory on Thursday, the deadliest-ever attack in a 30-year-old armed conflict.
A Pakistan-based militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammed (meaning 'army of Mohammed') has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Indian Australians in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne organised various events over the weekend.

People strongly condemned the act, observed a two-minute silence and sang the national anthem of India.
Indian Australians in Adelaide also paid tribute to the sacrifice of the Indian soldiers.
Approximately 200 people in Adelaide joined together in condemnation of the attack on Indian soldiers in Kashmir.
Three retired army personnel, who fought in Kashmir at various stages, attended the event and spoke about the situation in Kashmir.
An Australian police detective in Adelaide also came and paid tribute to the slain soldiers.

Indian Australians in Melbourne expressed their anger
More than 500 people gathered at Parliament House in Melbourne and expressed their anger following Pulwama attack.
Rakesh Malhotra, the Consul General of India in Melbourne attended the event as well and told SBS Hindi, "The entire world stands with India today. People in India and across the world are in anger but we need to fight against it with patience".
People sang patriotic songs and demanded the Indian government take action against the group which attacked the convoy of Indian soldiers.

Indian Australians in Sydney will organize an event on Tuesday 19th February at 6.30pm at Jubilee Park, Harris Park, near the Gandhiji Statue.
