New Zealand music legend Neil Finn has criticised the use of his songs for hold music.
"I'm ready to fight against the use of my songs for customer service hold music," the Crowded House and Split Enz star tweeted on Saturday.
He suggested Fur Elise on Casio might be more appropriate because "at least Beethoven is dead".
"Music on hold develops negative association as the customer is having a bad experience."
He added he was OK with Supermarkets.
"I suppose I should be happy my songs are being played anywhere."
On Twitter, McSpackle, replied asking him to "please get Dave Dobbyn onboard too."
While others said his music made the experience more pleasant.
