Highlanders boosted for Force clash

The return of Waisake Naholo and Shaun Treeby has boosted the Highlanders for their Super Rugby clash against the Western Force in Perth.

The Highlanders face their third Super Rugby match on the road boosted by the return of Waisake Naholo and Shaun Treeby for Saturday's clash against the Western Force in Perth.

Third in the New Zealand conference, and on the same points as the second-placed Chiefs, the Highlanders have made only a couple of changes to the starting line-up that beat the Cheetahs 45-24 in Bloemfontein last week.

Naholo and Treeby return from injury to the run-on team, with Naholo back on the wing and Treeby starting at inside centre.

Utility back Richard Buckman, who filled in the No.12 jersey last week, moves to cover on the bench.

Co-captain Ben Smith reaches a Super Rugby century when he starts at fullback on Saturday night, becoming only the fourth Highlander to rack up 100 games all wearing the Highlanders jersey.

The Highlanders sit fifth on the overall table, and head home from Perth to play the Chiefs in Invercargill before winding up their regular season with matches against the Hurricanes and the Blues.

Highlanders: Ben Smith (co-captain), Waisake Naholo, Malakai Fekitoa, Shaun Treeby, Patrick Osborne, Lima Sopoaga, Aaron Smith, Nasi Manu (co-captain), John Hardie, Gareth Evans, Mark Reddish, Alex Ainley, Josh Hohneck, Liam Coltman, Brendon Edmonds. Reserves: Ash Dixon, Daniel Lienert-Brown, Ross Geldenhuys, Tom Franklin, Dan Pryor, Fumiaki Tanaka, Richard Buckman, Marty Banks.
