Bali bomb survivor is Qld dad of the year

Ben Tullipan was Australia's worst injured survivor from the 2002 Bali bombings; now he's been named Queensland's father of the year.

Australia's worst injured survivor of the Bali bombings in 2002 has been named Queensland's Father of the Year.

Ben Tullipan was awarded the accolade by Scripture Union Queensland at a lunch in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Accepting his award, the 39-year-old urged dads throughout the state to relish time with their young children as they quickly grow up.
