CCTV footage has emerged of the terrifying moment an Indian-origin Subway store owner defended himself against a masked burglar in Sydney.
The burglar stormed into Dhaval Shukla’s Subway shop armed with a knife.
Dhaval was preparing for the day's trading when a knife-wielding intruder donning a black balaclava jumped over the counter.
But Dhaval didn't think twice about risking his life.
He grabbed a nearby box-cutter and engaged in a dangerous scuffle.
Dhaval told 7 News that the “scuffle went on for eight to 10 seconds, enough for him to realise that I'm up to some serious business as well. I'm not here to scare off.”

“By the time I get it [box cutter] and turn back he is over me. And I'm pinned against the wall – the door is shut of course. I had only one way to go which is to march forward,” he added.
This is a risky act!
Dhaval says he was just protecting his business.
'People say if someone comes in just co-operate – just surrender – it's a matter of a couple of hundred dollars,' he told 7 News.
Dhaval says - 'It takes a lot of blood tears and sweat to make a couple of hundred dollars. It takes me a whole day to make a couple of hundred dollars.'
The NSW Police are looking for the masked burglar.
