Think you've got what it takes to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest? Your time could be here, and here's how you - or a group - can enter a super-exciting Wildcard contest.

SBS, Blink TV and TikTok have today announced a national TikTok Wildcard contest to find an eleventh artist to take part in Eurovision – Australia Decides on the Gold Coast in February.

That's right - it was ten (including four more artists announced yesterday: Pop newcomer Charley, genderqueer performer Seann Miley Moore, Perth’s metal quintet Voyager and singer-songwriter Jude York) but now there's an extra space for someone - or a group - to step up onto the Eurovision – Australia Decides stage.

So what do you need to do?

To enter, post a live vocal performance clip, up to one minute long, with the hashtag #EurovisionAustralia to be in the running to become the Eurovision – Australia Decides TikTok Wildcard Artist. What you sing and how you perform it is up to you! A panel of industry experts will then determine the winner, who will go on to round out a total lineup of 11 incredible artists on the Gold Coast - all chasing their dreams to represent Australia at Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Italy.

How do I make sure my entry complies with the rules?

To participate in the Competition, entrants must:

  1. produce a video of up to 1 minute of a live vocal performance which meets the Video Requirements; and
  2. post the Video on their TikTok account within the Competition Period and include the hashtag #EurovisionAustralia within the caption of the post; and
  3. ensure that the privacy settings of the Video are set to “public” and is publicly accessible; and
  4. ensure that the Video posted complies with TikTok’s Community Guidelines, TikTok’s Terms of Service and the Video Requirements

Can groups enter?

Yes they can! The Wildcard competition is open to individuals or a group of up to six people.

Entry is only available to people who are Australian citizens resident in Australia and aged 16 years or over as at 1 May 2022.

What is the prize?

Much excitement! And of course the big ticket: a wildcard entry to perform an original song live at the event at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre with rehearsal on Tuesday 22 February 2022 or Wednesday 23 February 2022, and full shows on Friday 25 February 2022 and Saturday 26 February 2022. The organisers will work with the winner leading up to the Event to select a suitable original song for the winner to perform for the event shows.
