Since its launch in 2016, SBS Arabic24 has gone from strength to strength to become Australia’s leading Arabic language radio station, with 24 per cent share of the weekly Arabic-speaking radio market in the largest metro cities*, and significant growth in online audiences.
Mandi Wicks, SBS Director of Audio and Language Content, said “SBS is committed to meeting the changing needs of communities and ongoing consultation provides us with valuable insights to inform our services. Following conversations with our Arabic-speaking audiences, we’ve updated the radio service, to include more entertainment and to introduce for the first time, an hourly news bulletin across weekdays, which will be focused on delivering Australian news in Arabic.
“The morning program with Nabil Nashar will involve audiences, giving them the opportunity to request their favourite songs. Additionally, the SBS Arabic24 team will continue to deliver stories daily to audiences who are increasingly consuming our stories via the SBS Radio app and online platforms.”
