Around 250,000 Australian teenagers and young people live with severe allergies.

It's estimated that around 250,000 Australian teenagers and young people live with severe allergies.

Professor Richard Loh has told the ABC Australians that Australians have one of the highest food allergy rates.

He says children and young adults between the ages of 12 and 24 comprise the majority of deaths from food allergies, and many of them are embarassed and awkward about their allergies.
