40 per cent of school students disengaged: Grattan Institute

Four out of 10 students are struggling to remain engaged in school.

That's according to a report by the Grattan Institute which is calling for comprehensive reform to tackle what it says is a hidden problem in schools.

The public policy organisation, the Grattan Institute, says a large proportion of school students are unproductive in any given year.
