The program pays participants a thousand dollars of fine each month for participation in psychological or financial consultation sessions

Many motorists face heavy fines for different traffic violations. These violations may accumulate to become a major financial burden on the shoulders of their owners.

The NSW government has launched a program that helps people pay these fines without paying cash!

The program is called Work and Development Order. Dr. Hishmat Shahid, a specialist in gambling and financial problems in the Arab Council of Australia, says that there are conditions that must apply to the beneficiaries of this program and include:

• Having a mental or psychological problem and having a treatment plan set up by a doctor

• Be a low-income person and receive Centrelink payments

• Be affected - albeit indirectly - by gambling
