Daniel Nour visited Egypt with other young Australians from Egyptian heritage. He says this visit taught him to be proud about his heritage and how to espouse both cultures.


Six months ago, the Egyptian Minister for State and Expatriate affairs, Nabila Makram, visited Sydney on a diplomatic tour. While she was there she spoke to a group of Australian Egyptians about a 'back to your roots' style tour of country which her ministry was funding with the support of the President. A collaboration with the Egyptian Government, the Egyptian Consulate in Sydney and the Sydney based Australian Egyptian Forum Council made this possible for group of 20 Australian Egyptians from Sydney who were joined by 50 youth from Melbourne. Daniel Nour, a young journalist with the Australian Egyptian Forum Council shares his thoughts on the life changing trip.
