A Yazidi activist, working to help Yazidi women who survived from ISIS captivity, described the Nobel Prize winner Nadia Murad as an "icon" for all Yazidis.

Khodr Domli told SBS Arabic24 that Nadia deserved the prize because she "broke up the traditional stereotype of women (in the Middle East) by revealing what happened to her when she was abused while in ISIS captivity."
"Nadia has done the role well in a heroic way and said I was sexually assaulted," he stressed.
Mr. Domli is an activist and specialist who is helping dozens of Yazidi women who survived from ISIS captivity.
"The Yazidi women broke up the fear barrier and the traditional woman stereotype who used to cover her face when she is sexually and physically assaulted," Mr Domli said.
They started to tell the world the "atrocities" they faced when they were in ISIS captivity, he added.
