One year after Australians voted in favour of same-sex marriage, L-G-B-T advocates say the community is still fighting for equality.
61.6 per cent of Australians said yes to marriage equality in last year's postal survey.
That vote led to an amendment of the Marriage Act to redefine marriage as simply "a union of two people".
Since that bill passed through the House of Representatives on December the 7th, over 5,000 same-sex marriages have taken place.
But New South Wales Independent MP Alex Greenwich, a prominent voice in the "yes" campaign, says the Ruddock review into religious freedoms highlights there is still progress to be made.
