AFL Pride Round
SBS Source: SBS
As the A-F-L prepares for its inaugural Pride Round, there are hopes the code can become legitimately inclusive. At a match on Saturday night, spectators will be encouraged to wear the colours of the rainbow to show solidarity with people who don't identify as heterosexual. On the field, Sydney Swans players will be wearing rainbow socks while the St Kilda team will sport jumpers with rainbow-coloured numbers. It's been a long time coming for a sport where LGBTI people have sometimes felt excluded.
