The world celebrates the International Day of Arabic Language on the 18th of this month in a tradition launched by the United Nations in 2012 in recognition of the importance of this language in the cultural heritage and knowledge of all humanity The Arabic language has a special place among Australian Arabic communities because it is the one of the main sources of their mother culture and the link that keeps them in touch with the hertiage of their ancestors. In celebrating this day, the cultural attaché of Saudi Arabia in Canberra organized an event in which it sought to introduce the importance of the language to participating diplomats and those who are interested in intercultural dialogue it aims to showcase role of the Arabic language in the life of the speakers and the possibilities it offers in various aspects of modern life For more, listen to the above interview with the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Canberra Dr. Hisham Khaddawardi, who began by highlighting the importance of the World Day of Arabic Language
