The United Nations celebrates International Families Day on 15 May each year.
In Australia, more than 100,000 people and hundreds of organisations celebrate National Families Week each year on 15 to 21 May.Festivities here are organised by Families Australia with the support of the Australian Government since 2003.National Families Week is considered a time to celebrate with family and friends, and to participate in family activities within the wider community.A number of prominent Australians will be appointed as Ambassadors for National Families Week.They promote this week and raise awareness its message, through media and attending social events.
