What do you know about refugees or being a refugee?

Australia celebrates Refugee Week each year from the 18 to 24 June. The event aims to raise awareness about the conditions that the refugees faced and what are the issues affecting them.

The Australian Refugee Council has chosen this year's slogan "With courage let us all combine".

Settlement Services International celebrates this week since 2015 by establishing New Beginnings: the Arts and Culture Festival for Refugees. Its a festival to bring together the diverse talents of refugees, immigrants and people seeking asylum in Australia.

The festival aims to inspire, challenge, educate and develop creative conversations by presenting a mix of visual arts, films and art workshops.Arts will be presented on 21 June - 2 July 2017 at 107 Projects, 107 Redfern St, Redfern NSW 2016.
