Australians lost 50 Million dollars to cybercrimes last year

1 in every 4 Australians fell victim to a cyber crime last year

According to a 2017 report from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, 1 in 4 Australians was a victim to a cybercrime. This is estimated to have resulted in 50 million dollars in loses between individuals and businesses.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre, through Stay Smart Online is hosting a raising awareness week every year to demonstrate the ways people, business and the community can protect themselves online. This year’s theme is “Reverse The Threat” and it’ll run from the 8^th of October till the 14^th.
