A Queensland police officer has been punched in the head several times after searching a car for drugs in the Glass House Mountains.


The officer was punched in the head by the 39-year-old passenger of a Toyota Camry, after he was allegedly found in possession of drugs on Sunday afternoon (dec 24).

The police officer, who suffered a dislocated finger and head injuries, was taken to hospital. 

Police are appealing for public help to find Ashley Dodd who they allege seriously assaulted the 49-year-old male officer.

A man is fighting for life in hospital after being stabbed on Christmas day (dec 25) with another man in police custody.

Paramedics rushed to the Vale Park address, northeast of Adelaide after reports a man had been stabbed.

The male suspect, who was known to the victim, was taken into custody after being spotted by driving by police at Holden Hill and is currently being interviewed.

Eight people have been injured after two cars collided early on Christmas morning (dec 25) in Melbourne's east.

The cars crashed at the Stud and Boronia road intersection in Wantirna South with one car rolling over.

Five occupants had to be cut from the overturned car and were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries while three people from the second car were also taken to hospital.
