He has been called “Australia’s first white Imam” Sheikh Zain Al-Deen Johnson is from the Sunshine Coast. He says his life under Sharia Law is no different than life for Christians who follow the 10 Commandments or Buddhists who follow the teachings of Buddha. Sheik Johnson also believes being a good Muslim means obeying Australian law and respecting Australian values. In a wide ranging conversation with SBS Arabic24’s Heba Kassoua he spoke about why he converted to Islam and misconceptions that can lead to the radicalization of youth in Australia.
