Do you know what Bukjeh means?

Bukjeh is a Palestinian, Iraqi, Turkish word referring to a piece of cloth used to carry items.

This swag or Bukjeh is known mostly for displaced people and migrants who fled war in their own countries.

They would carry it on their backs and walk to search for safety.

This Bukjeh can hold valuables and some use it to carry food and cloths.

There are also memories and feelings associated with their homeland and their homes in this Swag, says Palestinian artist Aseel Tayeh.
