During an address to the Australian Friends of Palestine Association in Adelaide on Saturday 8 November, former Australian foreign minister Bob Carr announced his decision to become the patron of Labor Friends of Palestine. The group will advocate for humans rights for the Palestinians and the establishment of a Palestinian State. The decision comes almost 40 years after Mr Carr launched Labor Friends of Israel with Bob Hawke We spoke to Professor Bassam Dally (Executive Member of The Australian Friends of Palestine Association, and the Australian Palestinian Advocacy Network), about the importance of this decision
