Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the Federal Government is considering creating a national anti-corruption body, but he will not commit to creating it despite both chambers of parliament backing one.
Now in minority government, the Coalition was going to lose a vote on the creation of the body, so it instead waved it through.
But the Government will not say when it will introduce one, despite the Senate also voting for it. Attorney-General Christian Porter says Independent MP Cathy McGowan's private member's bill on the matter goes too far and would wrongly capture innocent public servants.
