The Liberal party is promising to pass new laws to allow better tax offsets for 4.5 million Australians if re-elected.

The pledge comes after the Pre-Election Economic and Fiscal Outlook report released on Wednesday ((17th)) showed a key aspect of the Coalition's tax cut plan is not possible unless new legislation is made.

The Liberal party's tax plan is centred around bringing "immediate relief to low and middle income earners".

In order for low and middle income earners to get an increased tax offset for the 2018-19 financial year, the Coalition will have to pass new laws immediately after being re-elected.

Liberal Senator and Trade Minister Simon Birmingham told the A-B-C, the government is commited to ensuring their proposed tax cut plan is carried out if they win the election.
