New research carried out by Act for Kids has revealed that one third of people in Australia experienced emotional abuse in their childhood.To coincide with Child Protection Week (4th - 10th September), Act for Kids is calling for everyone to be vigilant to suspected emotional abuse as 40% of those surveyed said they do not feel confident they know how to identify the signs of abuse and neglect. Emotional abuse is a growing issue which accounts for almost half (43%) of confirmed cases of child abuse, making it the most prevalent form of abuse in Australia
