Dodson steps up for labor

Opposition leader Bill Shorten has chosen prominent Indigenous leader, Pat Dodson, to fill the Western Australian Senate seat left vacant by Joe Bullock (bull-ik).Mr Dodson, a former chairman of the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation, is the Labor leader's pick to replace Senator Bullock, who announced his resignation over same sex marriage on Tuesday night.Mr Shorten says it's a great opportunity to bring a distinguished Australian, also known as the father of reconciliation, into politics.
