The World Health Organisation says the deadly Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now an international health emergency after the virus spread this week to a city of two million people.

More than 1600 people have died since August in the second deadliest Ebola outbreak in history, which is unfolding in a region described as a war zone.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he had accepted the recommendations of a committee of international experts which stressed there should be no restrictions on travel or trade, and no entry screening of passengers at ports or airports outside the immediate region.

Professor Nabil Sulaiman, Head of Family and Community Medicine Al Sharja University in the UAE and a principal researcher with Baker IDI tells us about the symptoms and ways of prevention.
