Egyptians in Australia started to vote in their country's presidential elections.


The elections will be held over three days (16, 17 and 18 march 2018) in three Australian cities.

The voters in Melbourne cast their votes in the premises of the Egyptian Consulate General.

Egyptian Consul General Mohamed Fakhri told SBS Arabic24 that high rate of participation is seen over the first two days of elections (Friday and Saturday).

However, some voters called for more polling centres to be opened in all Australian states as Egyptians living in South Australia, Queensland, West Australia and Northern Territory.

Now only three centres are opended in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
