Federal energy minister Josh Frydenberg has warned the Victorian Government that voting against the National Energy Guarantee [[NEG]] will result in higher power prices and blackouts in the state.

Energy ministers are under pressure to strike an agreement on the Turnbull Government's energy policy at a crucial meeting later today [[Friday]].

But opposition from Labor governments in Victoria, Queensland and the A-C-T is threatening to block the deal.

Mr Frydenberg has told Sky News the guarantee needs to be supported.
