Energy Minister Angus Taylor says half-a-million energy customers in New South Wales and Victoria will see a drop in their power bills in 2019 following pressure from the government on companies such as A-G-L, Origin and Energy Australia.

Mr Taylor says it's outrageous that customers, who stayed with a power company, were basically being charged a "loyalty tax".The government says an estimated 39-thousand small businesses are expected to benefit from price reductions.
