Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott says he'll be getting on with his usual commitments rather than gloating when the next Newspoll comes out. Next week's Newspoll is likely to have the coalition trailing Labor for the 30th poll in a row. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull used 30 Newspoll losses in a row as a justification for challenging Mr Abbott for the Prime Ministership when he deposed him from that job in 2015. Mr Abbott says he'll be on the road between Melbourne and Canberra when the Newspoll comes out next week, raising money for charity on a bike ride. But Mr Abbott has criticised Federal Tresurer Scott Morrison, who's played down the prospect of new coal-fired power stations that a group of backbenchers, seemingly including Mr Abbott, are championing. Mr Abbott's told Macquarie Radio Mr Morrison makes less sense on energy policy now than he did earlier.
