France wins the football World Cup, beating Croatia in Moscow

France has won the football World Cup.


The French are world champions for the second time, 20 years after winning the world title for the first time.

They defeated Croatia, four goals to two, in the final in Moscow.

It was the highest-scoring World Cup final since 1966.
