News bulletin of this morning

Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the Government is working to restore public trust in the financial system after the banking commission's interim report last week found banks guilty of misconduct.

Royal commissioner Kenneth Hayne's interim report blamed greed and the pursuit of profit for the widespread wrongdoing in the financial-services sector.

Treasurer Frydenberg has told the A-B-C the Government has been proactive in establishing helpful measures.

The banking royal commission has received more than 10,000 misconduct submissions from the public. A final report, including recommendations, is due in February next year.
