One Nation leader Pauline Hanson says her former colleague Fraser Anning is trying to win votes from extremists in Queensland with his praise for the White Australia policy.

Katter's Australian Party's ((KAP)) Senator Fraser Anning made a speech on Tuesday ((Aug 14)) which has led to widespread condemnation across the political and public spectrum.

Richard McGilvray, an advisor to Mr Anning, has also resigned, saying he doesn't condone the views expressed in the speech.

Ms Hanson has told Sky News she agrees with Senator Anning's views on banning Muslim immigration but his use of the Nazi phrase "final solution" was too much.
