Home care packages - Reform

The Australian Government announced a range of aged care changes including: Introduction of the Home Care Packages Programme from 1 August 2013, which replaced the Community Aged Care Package Program. Introduction of Consumer Directed Care (CDC) to all new home care packages from 1 August 2013. Since 1 July 2015, all home care packages are being delivered on a CDC basis. Significant expansion to the Home Care Packages Programme. The number of home care packages will increase from around 72,000 places to around 100,000 places nationally by 2017-18. In the 2015-16 Budget, the Australian Government announced significant changes to improve the way home care services are delivered to older people.
